کاور مجله این ماه نشنال جئوگرافی نگاهی انداخته به ویژگی‌های منحصر به‌فرد پارک‌های ملی ایالات متحده، در طول یک روز کامل. عکس‌های تحسین برانگیز و هنری که توسط عکاس ماهر، استفان ویلکس گرفته شده‌اند. این عکاس قبلا نیز با استفاده از این ترفند از مناطق دیدنی سراسر جهان عکس‌هایی منتشر کرده بود، به طوری که هر عکس نشان دهنده ترکیبی مجلل از ساعات همان روز بود. استفان ویلکس درباره این روش می‌گوید:
